Is life contradiction?
I want to begin my topic with this question which does not seems related to the Mr Blackstone's question. In ancient age,our forebear did not pay any attention on their enviroment. The only thing they cared was their lives, and their life condition. This demand was reasonable and this was also the original reason for the huge industrialization afterward.Hence,I believe that it is nonsense to blame or hate industrialization. If we could choose again, what would we choose?I am sre that we would choose that way once again because it is the rule of life.Life is the choices and we have to pay for every choice we make.We can not change it but we can choose what is more necessary. What can we learn from this?It means that humans are the master of this world and we still want to live in more and more comfortable lives. This ambition leads to development and continous change. Therefore, the reason we have to save our Earth is for ourselves. In the other words, although we use any beautiful words for saving the earth, they are simply for ourselves. And when we are aware of this,we are not lost and know what we should do for us and our neighbours and our friends. Therefore,I strongly agree with the author of "Saving Nature".

Thank you, Yen, for these recent posts! I especially like this one because it shows your passion about this topic. I can understand how you think. Humans would seem to be on a particular evolutionary trajectory, and as a result, we need to follow our ambitions. However, we do have choices, and perhaps some of those are more harmful than good.
As a person who grew up in the 1960s and who remembers watching American TV every evening and learning about the tragic conflict in Vietnam, and about all the pain and suffering caused by diverse human ambitions, I feel especially close to this topic. As a person who has watched half a century of growth, both positve and negative, in my self, in my country, in the world around me, know well the dilemmas we face.
The problems are always complex, but in some ways, simple. As far as preservinbg the environment goes, Krathammer does have one strong point at least: Some environmental wants are really needs. Our survival simply depends on everyone (or at least those in power) recognizing that.
Thanks for inspiring my thoughts.
Dear Mr Blackstone,
I think that when you come to Vietnam this May,you may have complex feelings...However,after all,it will be a cool wind in your warm heart to love this life more and more.Hope you will have a meaningful trip!
